PAST INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR DEL BROWN

A Message from Past International Director DEL BROWN
Delmar W. Brown, of Iowa City, Iowa, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 85th International Convention, held in Osaka, Japan, July 8-12, 2002.

Past Director Brown is a consulting broadcast engineer.

A member of the Iowa City Noon Host Lions Club since 1986, Past Director Brown has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chairperson, extension chairperson, Campaign SightFirst Group Coordinator, Guiding Lion and district governor. In addition, he served as a moderator in 1998 and 1999 and as a presenter in 2000 at the USA/Canada Leadership Forum.

In recognition of his service to the association, Past Director Brown has received numerous awards, including the Club President Excellence Award, the District Governor Excellence Award, the Extension Award, five Key Member Awards and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor the association bestows upon its members. Additionally, he has received the International President’s Award, the International Lions Leadership Award and two International President’s Certificates of Appreciation. He is also a Melvin Jones Fellow.

In addition to his Lions activities, Past Director Brown is active in numerous professional and community organizations. Currently, he is a youth mentor and choir member at his church.. In the past he served as a senior member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers, the Parent Teacher Association president, his church’s council chairperson and Sunday school superintendent.

Past Director Brown and his wife, Clista, also a Lion and Melvin Jones Fellow, have three daughters, four grandsons and one granddaughter.
